Erika Summers

Erika Summers began her career as the Deputy Director of Scheduling for Chicago’s Mayor Richard M. Daley. She then led corporate events for Ariel Investments, LLC. for over a decade and is now an entrepreneur. She is the lifestyle expert and lead planner of Erika M. Summers Events, a boutique event management company. She is a Certified Meeting Professional and holds a MA and a BA in Communication Studies from Northern Illinois University. Ironically, her greatest accomplishment is not related to her professional achievements. Erika is a 14-year cancer survivor. Since being in remission, she spends her time mentoring new patients and uses her voice to speak about the importance of early detection in cancer diagnoses.

She is a native Chicagoan and takes pride in her community service work. She serves on the board of the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., The Links, Inc., and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc.
